DIY Window Replacement

It's not as hard as you might think it is to replace a window. Usually, I prefer to have an experienced glass company take care of it when I need a window replaced, but sometimes, they can't get to me as fast as I'd like, or I can't afford a new window right away. I keep a few inexpensive panes of glass and some supplies in my garage so that I can temporarily replace a window until I can get the glass company to my house to install a better one. This is definitely something that anyone could learn to do, so I decided to start a blog about it to try to teach others how to replace windows. Whether you're temporarily replacing a window or you want to do a permanent job, you can learn the basics here in this blog.

The Future Of Windshields: Two Changes You May See Coming Soon

Audrey Owens

Everything is becoming high tech, and windshields are standing in line. You will see some amazing things in the future when it comes to your car's windshield. For example, you may no longer need windshield wipers, and your windshield can warn you of danger, and many other things:

No More Windshield Wipers

Can you imagine a windshield without wipers?  Sound waves are making this possible.  Sound waves, which create a force field in front of the windshield, repel water, bugs, and other debris from ever hitting it. Because nothing touches the glass, it stays clean and clear at all times.

There are many benefits of having no windshield wipers. You will save money in replacements and repairs. There is no added weight to your vehicle, which helps with energy consumption, which helps you save gas.

This also benefits you in the winter because the sound waves stop ice from forming on your windshield, which means you can get rid of your ice scraper.  When you will see this high tech windshield is not known, as there is no release date for it.

Digital Windshield

Another type of windshield you will be seeing in the future is called an augmented reality windshield. Cameras are installed on your vehicle that tracks your head and eye movement to determine where you are looking. Sensors are installed on the exterior of the vehicle that tracks stationary and moving objects outside.

This allows you to see digital renditions of your surroundings, such as animals in the road, pedestrians, and road edges that are difficult to see. For example, if there is something blocking the road, instead of a warning light, the shape of the image appears on the windshield, such as the image of a deer.

You may be able to use hand motions with this type of windshield. For example, wave your hand across the windshield to see landmarks, traffic updates, weather, and more. You may be able to read text messages on your smartphone, and respond to your texts via voice commands. Moreover, it may show your social media posts. For those people that continue to text and drive, this is a much safer alternative. These windshields may replace your GPS or GPS app on your smartphone, and give you turn-by-turn directions.

Some time in the future when you buy a new car, or have your cracked windshield replacement installed, they may offer to install one of these high tech windshields for you.
